Technical expertise: GC-MS, LC-MS, use of deuterated water to monitor metabolic processes (de novo lipogenesis, energy expenditure and protein kinetics) in multiple species
Organs of interest: liver, adipose
Research focus: Involved with a team of scientists that supports various metabolic phenotyping efforts. Although our current responsibilities lie in managing programs surrounding diabetes and the control of glucose homeostasis, our skills are often drawn on to support other projects where intermediary metabolism is altered including atherosclerosis, thrombosis, neuroscience, hypertension and oncology.
